Poem #71

Let me take you to the hill from which
I watched the sunset when I was a kid.
Let me show you the little abandoned
street where I used to rollerblade and
the park where I was first kissed.

Let me take you out to the club where
I first danced like no one was watching
and to the place where I last saw my
first, big love. I’ll let you read the notebook
where I wrote verses about him.

I’ll take you down the road of the memories
of the moments I never wanted to end
and if you relive them through my words
those moments will get strength and never fade.

I like this. It reminds me of something I wrote once, though I’m no poet:

I’ve forgotten the wind and rain of childhood, the joy of running and digging in the dirt.

Thanks for visiting my blog.
