Poem #71

You power was to leave me speechless
and I never knew that could happen.
I write about pain and despair, it’s what
keeps my verses flowing but you came
and kissed all those words away.

Is this silence what happiness sounds like?
Winter air, smell of snow in the night,
your arms around me in an empty street.
I guess I need new words to describe this.

  1. Beautiful words! I think happiness sounds like silence, yes.

  2. Listening to ‘Moon River’ by Frank Ocean while reading this beautiful poem sounded so peacefully soulful. ❤

  4. Beautiful poem like New Year eve! 😊

  5. Silence is merely the eye of the storm for happiness, its not about doubt but affirmation, void of chaos. That place where everything is at a stand still during your temporary recovery of the emotional and physical roller-coaster rides that gives happiness its infamous and well sought after… flavor. Hint; it taste like- the perfected snowflake.

  6. Lovely little piece. It reminds me a little of Sarah Kay’s poem ‘Worst Poetry’. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_XSaIKpmLk
