Lighthouse

I’m sitting at this lighthouse while the moonlight shines on my face.
When you reach for me, you’d take me into your embrace.
When the world starts spinning, I start grinning as the stars shine in space.

When I look into your eyes, they shine like the lighthouse.

By the sea under the moon, I sing the melody that waits just for you.

Is it really true that we shine like the stars in your eyes?

I’m sitting at this lighthouse while the moonlight shines on my face.
When you reach for me, you’d take me into your embrace.
When the world starts spinning, I start grinning as the stars shine in space.

When I look into your eyes, they shine like the lighthouse.

When the stars shine down on me, I feel like I am floating on angel wings.

In the middle of the night, I am gifted with the song that you sing.

I’m sitting at this lighthouse while the moonlight shines on my face.
My love keeps growing as you sing for me.
When the stars start shining, I start flying across the graceful sea.

I look into your eyes and I see the lighthouse.

  1. Thanks for posting this poem of mine. If you read it just right, you can say it’s kinda like a song. That’s what I intended it to be at first.

    1. I recorded myself reading some of my early posts as I found that the same thing applied to my poems. If read just right they have a wonderful rhythm and you can add some emotion to it as well. I recorded myself on soundcloud then just added the player to the bottom of my post!

Love your poem by the way!

      1. Thanks! Lighthouse is one of my favorite poems I have ever written! Try looking at Venom or Brave Song on my blog. They are some other good ones that I have written. Brave Song is actually a set of English cover lyrics that I wrote for the song Brave Song from Angel Beats.

  2. I love the rhythm in it. A sweet lullaby of sorts.

    1. Me too! One night, I was sitting in the back of my mom’s friend’s truck looking and the first three lines just popped into my head as I was looking up at the night sky.
