Poem #76

I need one hell of a story.
One hell of a love story.
I need it to be wild, irresponsible,
spontaneous, unpredictable.
I guess poets sometimes just can’t
settle for normal, settle for settling.

I don’t need it to be perfect, I need
it to be real in all of its flaws.
I need the screaming and the kissing
and the crying and the late night heavy breathing.

I need one hell of a story.
One hell of a love story to become my
ink, my inspiration, my new poem collection
because love without verses is such an ordinary
sad, sad feeling.

  3. Imagine life without a love story, what a boring life that would be. Even authors just always fix a love story into any of their tales. We live for the stories…we live for love.

  9. Come teach me French in all ways possible and all your missing stories will become the collection of words you’ve yet to write…having lived them deeply in your skin, heart and mind…
    Je suis ton élève, Luna.
Excusez-moi pendant que mon cœur rattrape mes pensées haletantes. ; )

Oh we do get such great poetry out of these relationships don’t we?

I am reminded of one I wrote about a relationship that was very much like you describe…
We were watching a TV documentary on the plight of soldiers who were stranded in the ocean after the sinking of the USS Indianapolis, and I knew I was in trouble. I was desperately in love with a man I knew would sink me…
