Diary of a Plus Sized Woman

I am a plus sized woman
Skinny girls don’t know
the struggle they couldn’t
It’s always difficult trying to find my size
Everything I eat goes to my stomach my hips and my thighs
Guys assume because we’re overweight we have low self esteem and we’re easy
What if I told you it’s a while before I spread my wings completely
My hips have stretch marks like dripping wet paint
My thighs are thick as oatmeal but I never get a complaint
Despite the shit people say I love my body from head to toe
Self confidence and love give you an inner glow

Hi my name Brianna but most call me red cause I use to have red hair and I love red lipstick. I’m 21 years old. Gaming, cooking, and writing are my passions. I’ve been writing short stories since elementary school but I didn’t start writing poetry until I was in high school.

  1. Aw heck, I think I have reached the point where I relate to this, when asked why I think I am overweight the answer is simple. I can’t see my feet when I stand up. Still, be positive and think of yourself as being ‘cuddly’. Mind, I don’t relate to the wearing red lipstick part 🙂

  2. You go girl! There was a slam poetry thingy and it’s called “Fat Girl”. I think no one truly understands the struggle and the constant fight Unless they experience it, which they usually don’t and often judge. Be you, because there is no other version more beautiful! 😄

  3. These lines are so so so relatable. These fats may make us struggle but I do love them cause they make the real chubby me…

  4. Self confidence is everything❤ my mom is plus size too but she has the highest self esteem.

  5. Love this, it’s all about how you feel x

  6. I hate it when ppl talk about stretch marks while i really love them! Some will be like oh it’s because you have them you won’t allow yourself to look weak saying you hate them! But i never did! While girls in my family are trying all the DIY stuff i just admire them! And lots of love to you 💖💖

  7. “Self confidence and love give you an inner glow”
