Poem #211

You go to bed, hush the feelings and
fill the empty place besides with pillows.
You wake up the next day, do your thing.
And you repeat the same day after day
thinking you can train yourself to forget
but then a memory creeps in just to remind
you that you can push it down, but it’s still there.
It’s still burning somewhere deep down.
