What If We Were One?

What if you were me, and I were you?
Long ago, we agreed to separate
But what if we were one, and not two?

We’re old and tired, so what do we do?
We’ve taught ourselves to resent and hate
But what if you were me, and I were you?

The whole does each atom imbue
This is how the whole does create
What if we were one, and not two?

The universe is not cut in two
Oneness is our reality and fate
What if you were me, and I were you?

What if we finally had a clue?
What if peace and joy did animate?
What if we were one, and not two?

What if forgiveness did undo
The negativity of our state?
What if you were me, and I were you?

What if we touched, and went right through?
What if our bodies had no weight?
What if we were one, and not two?

What if we resolved that love was our due?
What if this union our hearts did sate?
What if you were me, and I were you?
What if we were one, and not two?

  1. So heartwhelming ❤❤ wow!!

    1. Thank you. An interesting neologism in your comment, too.

      1. I got overwhelmed after reading and hence neology happened while writing the comment ..😅
