Layers

remove my skin
it’s superficial anyways
what you see
isn’t always what you get
especially
when i don’t know you
well maybe
it depends on you

what’s inside
is what i decide
to share
you’ll need
to have earned
the privilege
of getting
to know me

… many won’t because all i see of you is what’s on the outside
