Poem #296

We need others to see us because
we became so lonely that we cannot see ourselves.
We show some skin, sell some body,
gain some muscles, cover all flaws
in hopes that our lie will catch someone’s eye
and that someone will love us since we
don’t know how to love ourselves in this day and age.

Well written…..but it’s difficult to generalize as true people do exist, who don’t appear differently….inner & outer “attire” ….strength & vulnerability.
