The Poetry Bar

Life is beautiful, with so many choices
Life is easy, no responsibilities
Life is young, I’ll be 20 for life

Life is harsh, no jobs post-graduation
Life is unfair, loans pilling
Life is fast, soon I’ll be 30

Life has its surprises; things will work out soon
Life is abundant if you learn where to look
Life is learning, I look forward to 40

Life is gratitude, I’m grateful for my family
Life is a stairway, all the steps I took mattered
Life is young, ages like fine wine, I’ll be 20 for life

One reply on “Youth”

I turn seventy this month. The decade years lend themselves to reflection. I have liked every age I’ve been, but, Dear God, please don’t make me be twenty again.
