Summer 2020

Our joys are simple,
that of children in the street,
running through the dusty roads
in the sweltering summer heat.

Nights spent in each other’s arms,
whispering distant dreams;
our plans are plentiful,
almost bursting at the seams.

I’ve learned to count the days,
watch as the seasons change.
Through sun and rain and perfect storms,
