The Days Of Long Farewell

Hearken, children! Gather ’round
Circle’s cast on sacred ground
As I speak this ancient tale
Of the days of long farewell –
Lean in closer, bend your ears!
All may listen, few may hear
Stories and predictions made
Learned from cradle, passed to grave –
Now we face them each in turn
All because we haven’t learned
Ensconced in envy, greed, and pride
And whoring ’til the day we die –
Leave the rebels in their slumber
To the Dark Arts they surrendered
Fair thee long, and fair thee well
For Angels in your houses dwell –
Hearken, children! Gather ’round!
Circle’s cast on sacred ground
As I speak the ancient tale
Of the days of long farewell –
Gods have sung, and trumpets blown
Man has reaped what he has sown!
Light has concurred death and fear
And all will know that We were here.

Poem #320

How can you corrupt something so
young and innocent?
As if getting her attention wasn’t enough,
you now want to expand your influence,
see how much you can manipulate
the mind that still believes in a happy end.
Do you get off on causing pain?

Her soul wasn’t ready to take a beating
but you didn’t blink an eye while
turning her into the other girl
the second option for your lonely nights.
You took one look at her, didn’t care what was inside.
You called her gut feelings a joke
while you were turning her into one.

Where is the finish line, where is the satisfaction
of making someone feel filthy, worth less than a dime
How can you corrupt something so
young and innocent?
Did you even feel the shame
or you just let her take the fall?

You matter

You matter,
Even if the stars and planets
lights years away can’t feel your embrace,
You matter

Even when you work hard till your bones ache,
yet gratitude doesn’t wish to
pay a visit,
You matter

When others try to tune down your sparkle because they could never embrace their own glitter,
taking you to their hiding
spot named ignorance,
You matter

When every step resonating on the ground returns to tell tales of your misdeeds,
You matter

When you feel trapped by sin’s leash around your neck, guiding you to unpredictability and wrong,
as your reckless past engulfs
you; the future reaches out to you in desperation,
living and breathing in the
present in the shadows of your intentions,
You matter

as you speculate about yourself on the sea of doubt, shivering as the waves of confusion and surrender sweep you away,
wondering which angels are
worthy of second chances,
You matter

Even if the fortress in your mind is crashing down upon you, depriving you of your ability to belief that you’re smart,
that you’re important,
that you’re cared and loved,
that what you do matters,
You matter

When you feel forgiveness vowed never to fall for your pleas and you wander into every corner and space,
cursing yourself
for having to rely on magnifying glasses and telescopes to find something that
should’ve always been nearby,
You matter

As life becomes a whirlpool, swirling you into its intoxicating demands and instead of resolving them, your body leaves scars of a battlefield,
You matter

When you walk alone, sing alone, suffer alone, pray alone, win alone,
You matter

As you take something you should’ve returned, speak the words you reach out to grab before they spread, hurt someone whose scars will always stay fresh,
You matter

When you look in the mirror as disgrace stares viciously at you,
You matter

When people throw the most vibrant, velvet roses at you while taking care of sharpening the thorns
the thorns that exclaim,
“You don’t matter”,
You matter,

You matter,
especially if you believe you don’t,

because you are cared for and loved,
because you were not created,
without purpose

How do I unlove you?

How do I unlove you?
I should find a way
To break the cycle of pain

How do I unlove you?
To free my mind of doubts
To take other shots

How do I unlove you?
Or should I?

Coelho said,
“When looking for peace,
don’t look for love.”

I guess I am just tired
of fighting for love
Maybe it is time to surrender to it
For a change.

Even the world itself has to rest
It can only take two wars in a century.

Impermanence

Everything crumbles once time dries it up,
Music fades and songs stop playing,
Gardens wither and bees stop singing,
The songs of nature grow quiet
And the air falls
Into serenity, a graveyard slumber.

No wind or flow
Of water and melted snow,
No paint sticks on Picasso’s masterpiece,
Art and life all blended –
And poured down the drain.

‘No one stays long enough till Christmas’
No one stays long enough within these walls.
Everyone leaves,
Everyone finally goes and perhaps
It’s to a better place.

And this is the way
To forever be alone, with others by your side,
Every person a guest and everything a lend
