What place in the world do you never want to visit? Why?
This might sound a bit odd to some of you, but I will just come out and say it. I don’t want to go to Australia. I have an irrational hatred for snakes and my brain linked Australia to snakes and other weird, highly venomous creatures. Objectively, I know that snakes aren’t just slithering around Sydney, but in my head if I go to Australia, I will absolutely see a snake. Like a big one.
This problem is not exclusively limited to Australia. Whenever I go hiking with my boyfriend, who is unfortunately into that type of things, he has to swear to me that there are no snakes. We have some venomous kinds here in Croatia as well and I have successfully steered clear from them.
If you are wondering what inspired this hate that I have, I am sorry to say that I haven’t got an answer. I have literally never seen a snake in the flesh. When I was little my aunt took me and my sister to the zoo and that was when I first saw a snake and something just snapped inside of me and that’s where it all began.
I went to the zoo last year (I think) and my bf convinced me to see the snakes and I was so uncomfortable all the time. I just cannot stand them.
So, Australians, it’s really nothing personal. The human mind works in mysterious ways.
Love,
Luna
