Alcohol

Alcohol and me
Now that’s a complex one
Makes me do some stupid things
But I’ve had a lot of fun.

The life and soul of parties
Singing karaoke
Remembering all the gags
That’s me, Mr Jokey.

I’ve got myself in states
Nowhere near my best
I’ve been sick on the streets
And woken fully dressed.

Things I am ashamed of
Which sober, wouldn’t do
But drink gave me the courage
To whisper, “I love you.”

And you are everything
So tell me, in the end
Is drink one of my demons
Or a very fickle friend?

Hobbo

Hi, my name is Hobbo and my blog www.hobbospoems.com has been going for a couple of months now.  I write quirky, mostly funny stuff, but sometimes with a serious message. I had a poem published in Luna’s Poetry Bar a week or two ago, and was pleased that it got 70+ likes, more than my current number of followers!
SO, PLEASE, if you like this next poem, before you click the like button, check out my blog for lots of other funny stuff, and if it floats your boat join my small, but select band of followers.  Thanks
