Have you ever been camping?
I have been successfully avoiding camping for the past 28 years of my existence. It has gotten harder in the last 5 years because I am dating a man who is very enthusiastic about the prospect of us going camping, but I am holding my ground.
I do think it would be a good and interesting experience, but I am not a very outdoorsy person and also, I cannot pee in nature. There’s too much information about me for you. I don’t know why I cannot do it, but I just can’t. I think that camping would end up in a visit to the ER because of my dying bladder and I’ve had enough visits to the ER recently. I am the same with sharing bathrooms with a lot of people. We always travel on a budget but we never sleep in hostels etc., because the thought of sharing a bathroom with strangers or, even worse, having one bathroom for the entire floor is my personal version of a nightmare.
I know there are like “luxury camping” or “glamping” sites now and that would be interesting too, but I think it actually kills what the actual camping experience should be. Maybe one day, my bladder decides to stop being a queen and cooperates and I do a little camping trip but for now, it just isn’t in the cards for me.
