Poem #204

She was a fire born on a hot summer day.
Her heart was kind but too exposed so it
became a liability. She realized to late
what kind of place the world is and somehow
the fire got burned. There’s ice running
through her veins now. The fire is dying out.

Elsa

Wrapped up in this cloud of ice.
On the outside I look like I’m holding
everything in place, it seems like I’m
doing it all right.

Deep inside my mind is twisting, deep
inside the ice is growing stronger by the minute.

Surrounded by this wall of ice.
Still standing on my pedestal, still holding
my head high. They don’t know, they can’t see
this storm that’s coming to me.

Deep inside my mind is twisting, deep
inside the ice is growing stronger by the minute.

I’m done, I give up, I can’t hold this to
myself anymore. Let the ice get out, let
it freeze all that is left of me. If you can’t stand
it, just run like all of them did. Be scared, believe me
that you should be. I’ll be standing alone, but I’ll
still be the queen.

Living in this castle of ice.
Your words can’t reach me, your love can’t
melt me. Deep down inside these blue eyes
coldness reigns and frozen thoughts run through my head.

Deep inside my mind is twisting, deep
inside the ice is growing stronger by the minute.

Consumed by the coldness of the ice.
I’m holding my ground, I’m not coming back.
Don’t come near, don’t try to touch me because
even my single touch ruins everything around me.

I’m done, I give up, I can’t hold this to
myself anymore. Let the ice get out, let
it freeze all that is left of me. If you can’t stand
it, just run like all of them did. Be scared, believe me
that you should be. I’ll be standing alone, but I’ll
still be the queen.
