Poem #186

She finally got to hear those words.
You offered her the moon and the stars
and the sun and the whole world but she refused.
You’ve been gone for so long and she
became stronger and capable of walking alone.
The darkness wasn’t the big bad wolf trying to swallow her.
She made a friend out of it.

Poem #183

A million years in the same place and
now I’m packing up my suitcase. I’m leaving
for the world even if the journey is only in my
head. Let me run, let me fly, let me swim but just
don’t let these 4 walls crush my spirit.

The same wall I’ve been staring at for years
started to speak to me. He said that even though
I’ve painted it the writings beneath are still
telling the story of the girl with many dreams.
He’s telling me to get my feet moving because
my life will pass and I will just be staring at it.
He’s telling me to get out of this town before
my heart dies and I get left with nothing to pour
into these lines.

A million years in the same place and
now I’m packing up my suitcase. I’m leaving
for the world even if the journey is only in my
head. Let me run, let me fly, let me swim but just
don’t let these 4 walls crush my spirit.
I have so much more to see, I have so much life
within and I don’t want to be chained to this city.
I’d rather spend the night on the concrete under the
big lights than in the cold hug of my walls.

These walls are telling a story about a girl that wanted
it all but only ended up on the floor every time the
liquor would get her father spinning out of control.
Lately she’s been tilting at windmills and her exhausted
body hit the ground. She’s just staring at the walls now,
not even trying to make a move to brake the chains that
are holding her down. Her enemies are in her head, her mind
is tightening the noose around her neck. Who is she? Just
look in the mirror, she’ll be there.

Poem #61

I’ve dug out my roots a long time
ago, back when I thought the world was
infinite and that I was meant to explore it.

Now I’m just dragging those roots behind
me. I step with them into every day with
the sky painted gray. They are the painful
reminder that I have such big wings and such
little room to move.

I tried chopping them off but they grow back
even longer and stronger. I think they’re trying
to send a message. I think they’re trying to
tell me to learn how to use my feet to cross
the lines instead of using my hands to draw new ones.

The Newborn Wolf

The Newborn Wolf

The world was falling apart and she kept a smile
until at night she heard the howl of the wolves
calling for her, making her blood to boil,
making her step outside.

As her body carefully hit the grass the rain started
pouring down on her and she felt like the earth
was giving her comfort and a place to rest.
A light appeared in her sky, the meteors started piercing the night

She was just lying under the meteor shower while
the roses were crying raindrops and she whispered
to herself: “How long can I live a lie?” She was lying
on the ground when the meteors started coming down.

Everything caught fire as she ripped pieces of paper
throwing them to the side. Every verse and every line
seemed to get her to a breaking point instead of
getting her up from the ground.

The wolves howled louder and stronger than before
just to let her know that if she runs away on all fours,
she won’t be alone. She knew she would never be tamed
because the wild instincts only grew stronger in her veins.

The fire was destroying the nature but the moon was in the
sky safe and sound ruling over the newborn wolf of the night,
giving her his name and making her one of a kind. The fire was
getting stronger but it was never as strong as the one in her eyes.

Her mouth opened and she howled.

The bleeding sun

The bleeding sun

I saw the sun bleeding so much beauty
over the sea while it danced to the sound
playing in my head all day.

Like it listened, like it heard the struggle
I’m in. Like it understood that I needed peace.

I thought to myself – if the sea can be beautiful
in its riot of drops and waves than I can find
one thought that will keep me on my feet.

So much has happened and so much has
changed. Even the sun is disappearing from my
horizon. But soon after the moon rose and it
reminded me why I decided to share the name with him.

So strong even when he’s small. The only light
in the dark nights. He always finds a way to show
himself, no matter how many times he disappears.

Inspire me and revive me. Give me new
meaning and lead me. Moon, you messenger
that there is always something good to be found
even in the darkest night, help me sleep tonight.

Life exhausted me and left me sitting on this
beach and I feel alone but that’s alright because
I’m looking at the sun bleeding so much beauty over
the sea and setting the territory for the moon to share some
light upon the lost.

Lost on the highway

Lost on the highway

Put the windows down
let the night air pierce my lungs.
On this highway I want to get lost tonight.
I don’t want to be found.

Why would I want to be found
in a world that tells nothing but lies?
Sells empty promises, fills out heads with
dumb ideas about prosperity when outside
the window we see people dying on the street.

When will it end, when will we have peace?
When will we stop and think: What the f***
have we done here?

I hear voices in my head, they keep
telling me to stop. Who am I to become
somebody, to make myself worth being alive?
It’s like everywhere I turn it’s a dead end street, so
I’ll just get lost on this highway within me.

Hey guys thanks for reading! I’m new to all of this and it would be great if you’d support me on my fb page Luna and follow me on instagram Luna.theblog
