I eat this breakfast dreaming of you
My long dead saints
A simple meal of bread, cheese and apple
Our shared communion
A sacrament to all our kin
Passing the body and blood through the lines
In this we will hold hands and give thanks
Sharing, laughing, arguing, gossiping
Larry sipping vodka over the meal
Allan tracking women of the hollows
Sylvanus slipping from the wagon
And we shall share into oblivion
One table set with a simple meal
Bread, cheese and apple
One communion among my saints
