I heard the pieces fall into place
on that rainy autumn day.
It was the first time I believed
there was a funny thing called faith.
Your perfume wrapped around me
and the vibration of your voice
echoed through my body
sparking every cell to life.
The world stopped for a minute, just for us.
Everything was in slow motion
even the music didn’t seem as loud.
I saw something familiar in your eyes.
Like there was a string between us
pulling us both closer.
Whatever happened in those few seconds
was a force I didn’t want to fight against.
And so it begun,
and so it still is.
The most precious part of my day
is our good-morning kiss.
