Blink twice if I’m in danger

I finally watched Blink Twice. It has been on my list of movies I wanted to watch for a while now and I managed to do it before it left the theaters. I haven’t seen something so good in a long time.

I know that the reviews are mixed for this movie, but I am on the “thumbs up” side. I did feel like the first part of the movie was a bit long but by the end everything is linked together and it makes sense. This was the first time in a long time that I found a movie so engaging, I was on the edge of my seat by the end just praying that some of the girls in the movie make it out alive.

The movie does deal with very heavy topics and it’s hard to not see the references to Epstein and Diddy. To anyone who might be inspired to see it now, just know that the movie can be triggering to survivors of sexual assault.

What I really found interesting is how they used sound efficiently to build up tension and panic even when the scenes weren’t ominous or scary. Also, the end where Tatum is re-doing his public apology is a great portrayal on how these celebrity apologies and “taking accountability” is all fake and very performative.

I spoiled the movie just a little bit, I won’t do it any further, go and watch it if you can because it is really good (according to me). When I went home after the movie, I noticed that I had a visceral reaction to the movie, I was so anxious and tense. I ended up watching a random episode of a sitcom when I came home just to relax a little bit.

I will not be watching anything similar this weekend, because this weekend I am going to a standup show again. Hopefully, this time there will be no rats crawling around on peoples’ neck.

What are your plans this weekend?

Love,
Luna

  1. Thanks for the movie recommendation. I’ll try and find it.

Also my plans for the weekend are the same. We’r getting a visit from my roommate’s mother, but other than that it’s being lazy in front of the TV that’s the goal – as always.
