Trapped

The words aren’t caught in my throat
not like a butterfly in a net,
more like
trapped.
A firefly in a jar:
in the dark
their meaning burns bright,
but for now
it is light
so even I don’t know what they mean

Heyyy! My name is Skye Cielo and I come from Vancouver, Canada. Ultimately, I’m a work in progress and am currently working on improving my writing skills. You can catch me at: https://flawedtranscendence.wordpress.com/

  1. I like this metaphor. I wrote something similar once, but I cannot find it. Something about this poem reminds me of Plath, I don’t know why, just a feeling. I like your brevity.

    1. Thanks so much!!

  2. Thanks again for creating The Poetry Bar!

  3. Kinda reminds me of a shy person

  4. Reblogged this on Mirror Gate and commented:
