Tale of Winter

Your sunbeams first
touched my cursed
land and I awoke.

The warm summer
rain of your love revived
the drought of my soul.

When you reached
for my heart I breathed
again and we bloomed.

I could start raging
fires with what your eyes
ignite in my chest.

But my raw
sense of life chased
your love far away.

Your absence rivals
Russia’s deepest winters and
my heart shall be frozen.

Until your touch
and your love
and your warmth
set me free again.
