Hell and heaven I had to cross
to find the place she told me to.
Forget all pain and fear of loss
to pass the gates they call me through.
I walk the halls of gold, temptation
my eyes fixed on the only thing
so no dark spirits, false creations
can poison what my faith will bring.
Step softly onto beauty’s meadow
a honest heart beats in my chest
to find a soul that casts no shadow
so my soul can be put to test.
And if the flower in the field
accepts my sacrifice and awe
My very heart, devotions shield
shall always bless it with my love.
