Dreamcatcher

I sat in the dark, a mind not yet born
as she has walked in, so pretty and lost.
A man by her side, so young and upset
his heart in the right but his mind was confused.

They danced, laughed and played,
in the light of their joy
when her heart shed a tear
and she sought for his voice.

He had many words but found nothing to say
that could heal her wounds or brighten her day.
They set things on fire and he burned her heart,
his heat and confusion drove them apart.

She reached for his hand to rebuild their world
but all she has found is what he hasn’t learned.
In pain she let go, left him in the dark.
Took her beauty and wonders to go somewhere far.

I have tried to follow, I searched for her light
but all I have found was the shadow and shards
of the failure of man that she used to love,
who stole and broke something
I could not return.

Hi! I’m a writer from Germany and my focus is mainly on prose, poetry and short articles on psychological and philosophical topics.
I let my personal life and feelings inspire my content and use writing as an outlet for the things I can’t keep to myself. Poetry is art after all and art shouldn’t be hidden 🙂 I hope whoever visits my page can find something for him or herself and leave it a little bit more inspired than before.
