Exemplary

Like a locomotive losing steam
Motivation is few and far between
Destination unknown
Underground, I call home
Too tired to fight the demons
If they ask, tell them “God” was the reason
He sent my soul to die, and if you ever wonder why
It’s because I believed so very much, that the death of my thoughts has become too heavy for me to bare
I cared too much, I tried too hard, to be exemplary – just to fall apart
I have nothing to offer, nothing to give
I bid you farewell, my heart has gone amiss
Don’t you dare, say I never tried
It’s not that I’m sad, it’s that everything inside me has died.
