8 months and done

I’ve talked in a post a few months ago that I developed really bad acne which caused me to leave my YT channel (do you even remember I had it) and I was struggling with my self-esteem. My confidence was below floor level.

I was put on roaccutane which is a medicine with several side effects. My skin was as dry as sand, I would get eczema often (currently suffering with it) and my skin became extremely sensitive. I literally cannot cook without gloves on because of how thin and sensitive the skin on my hands had become. I also had to start birth control because it’s a big no-no to get pregnant on roaccuate and, for some reason, I started getting three periods monthly when on the pill.

I can excitedly finally share with you that all of that is over now. I went to my dermatologist today and she told me that she is taking me off roaccutane and I honestly wanted to give her a kiss. I am so happy that I cannot put it into words. The first thing that I will be doing when I get home is chucking the rest of the pills I have in the trash.

My face is acne-free and I hope it will remain like that. I got a retinol for my face to take care of the scars, but in general I am done with it. It has been an uphill battle that lasted for 8 damn months, and that’s without counting in the time I spent with inflamed acne on my face. All in all, I am a happy girl!
