Poem #338

This body is not a home,
it’s a prison.
I am forced to live here
and I don’t feel it belongs to me.

Barbwire runs through my veins
there’s a constant sense of fear.
I sit down to meditate because they told me
it helps to come back to yourself
but I ended up in tears
digging my nails into my knees.
