Siblings

I shouldn’t be alive
I’ve never been alive, in a sense
Apart from a few glitches
And for that I thank God
For creating an imperfect world
Mirrored to my own image
Two wrongs make a right sometimes
And three lefts make a right all of the time
Is there anything outside?
Is there anyone inside?
There’s only what you do while you’re alive
And I never did a thing
I should never be alive

I am a bitter smile
on an honest face
of a distant soul.

Kind but poignant,
I’m yours to look
but not to touch.

I am a pair of eyes
that reflect a star
which is setting.

Pretty but useless,
I belong to everyone
and no one alone.

At the end of the day,
people say goodbye
and everyone walks back home.
