I can’t do this anymore

Guys, I am tired of being ill. It’s getting out of hand and it’s annoying and I would like some damn answers before I convince myself that I am crazy and that it’s somehow all in my head.

Ever since November, I have been suffering with something of a prolonged laryngitis. My sinuses are in shambles as well, I have been coughing out my lungs for weeks now and the two times I went to the doctors both said that it’s just laryngitis and that it’s nothing to be concerned about. Nothing to be concerned about, huh? FOR THE LAST THREE MONTHS?

I went and had an entire checkup done yesterday because I try to do it once a year and I felt really great when the doctor said that I am an example of how everything should be for someone my age while I am falling apart.

At least I got a recommendation to see an otorhinolaryngologist so I am waiting for my appointment. Maybe it’s nothing, maybe I really need to wait for this to just pass, but I want to be sure that it’s nothing. This hasn’t happened to me for a while. I had a very low immune system as a child but I got better with time and now it’s all back and it’s scaring me. I don’t want to go back to being ill every other week with doctors never having an answer to what is happening.

Fingers crossed that it’s nothing.

Love,
Luna

  1. Sorry you’re having such a bad time with this. I hope the specialist will come up with some answers for you. 😐

  2. Thinking good thoughts for you Luna but please don’t give up on yourself. Pursue your talents. You inspire me.

    1. Oh, that is so nice to hear, I immediately feel better ❤️

  3. Heyy, I just recovered from my 2 consecutive laryngitis “events”. I was literally voiceless for more than 2 months. I too went to multiple specialists and all they said was that “It is something in the air. You just need to give rest to your voice. It will recover soon enough.”

I used to drink warm water with lemon, ginger and honey. It helped to soothe the sore throat. Maybe you can give it a shot.

    Praying for your quick recovery!

    1. The second doctor I went to had the same explanation and he also added that “every other person has the same issue”. And I found that concerning 😅
Thank you and I am glad you recovered!

  4. So sorry to hear that you are going through all the issues you have been going through for so long!

I had an experience that happened in November when I was holding up a poster to vote for my daughter for City Council – she won but it was two days at the end of October. I was stationed for two days at the entrance/exit of the overflow parking were it was just lose dirt that was being blown my way by a cold breeze – mid 40’s. I was talking to those walking into the polls to vote for my daughter. By the time I got home I was starting to feel like I was coming down with laryngitis – it was hard for me to speak and it came out as a whisper. As a Good Dad I went back the next day and really couldn’t talk. I’d taken Dayquill and two aspirins. One hour into my 4 hour shift I had start having a cough. That night I had a serious hacking cough, like a 50 year smoker. I had to wait 3 days to see the doctor (over the weekend). He said, it was probably bronchitis and to take the cough syrup I told him I had at home. By the end of that week my wife was coming down with what I had and we went to the doctor again – different/better doctor. I went in with her and she gave us some anti-biotics a once a day dose with two pills the first day – 5 day supply. As soon as I started taking the anti-biotics my cough started to dramtically disappear. She also prescribed a cough syrup with Codine. This helped end the laryngitis and my voice came back. My hacking cough disappeared with the anti-biotics and you should demand that your doctor put you on a 5 day supply. It was a miracle for me. Same with the cough syrup with Codine.

If you go onto google and search for Valley Fever you will see that many of the the issue you have and I had match up. I had a relapse the middle of December because I went out in 37 degree weather with a cold wind. Got the cough back and a little loss of voice. Was prescribed the same anti-biotics and Codine cough syrup and it quickly cleared up.

If you read about Valley Fever you will see that it can turn into walking pneumonia or pneumonia.

Hope this will put you on the right pathway back to health!!
    Chuck 😊😁💕💕🌹🌹
