What do you enjoy most about writing?
Writing was my first escape. I learned to read and write at an early age and it just became my obsession and my remedy for everything that was wrong with the world. When it was all too much, I could just dive into my own little reality, with my characters and my stories where I controlled the plot and knew there would always be a happy ending. Reading had the same effect on me, I would just feel a bit more tense with it because I didn’t know what was waiting on each page.
And now, 20+ years later, writing is still the same escape for me. It is also my way of letting go and letting everything out. If it’s on paper, it becomes easier to carry. Writing is the most integral part of me.
