Share five things you’re good at.
I think this is a good exercise for all of us who are wildly self-critical. So let’s get started.
I think that what I am good at is learning fast. I will just figure things out and learn how to do them, does not matter what those things are. I used to be more oriented towards books and studying, but after I started to work I figured out that my preferred way of learning is absolutely doing things instead of learning definitions.
Number two would be my ability to talk to myself. No, I am not crazy. I thought this was a bad thing my whole life and that “normal” people don’t do this, but after I got older and especially after going to therapy, I figured out that talking to yourself is a good thing that not a lot of people can do well. I am able to calm myself down to the point where I can stop myself from being nauseous, scared etc. I did develop this skill because of the domestic abuse I suffered as a child, but it has helped me throughout my whole life.
Number three is discipline. I think I have a lot of discipline in life, considering the world we live in where everything is constantly pushing us to procrastinate, to spend, to do this, that and the third. Sometimes I can lock in and just do what I need to do despite everything around me. I make my to-do list and I stick to it.
This is getting harder and harder, but at number four we have resilience. If there’s one thing you can be sure of when it comes to me is that I will try again, I will come back, I will find a way and I will adapt.
Number five would be…. Hm… Writing? Am I actually good at it? I think I am solid and that I have been working on it consistently and that I will get better so I am putting it here as well!
Love,
Luna
