With our community of poets and writers expanding, I have been getting a lot of e-mails asking how to submit a poem for The Poetry Bar. Instead of writing 10 e-mails a day explaining everything, I will put it all here for all of our new members!
The Poetry Bar is a creative poetry platform where you can publish your work. It is completely free to submit. All you need to do is send your poem, a few words about yourself and a link to your blog and Instagram if you have them. In case you are not a blogger and just want to promote your new published book, you can also let us know where we can purchase your book and support your art. The e-mail to which you can send your submission is firstname.lastname@example.org
Also, you already know that I have my own Instagram account and I also run one for The Poetry Bar: https://www.instagram.com/the.poetrybar/.
There I mostly publish poems by authors who send their Instagram handles because I want to give you credit for your work. If you publish your poems on Instagram, you can put the hashtag #thepoetrybar in the description of your poem and I will share it on our story. I thought it would be a fun way of engaging with each other a bit more.
If you have any more questions, I am here for you as always. I can’t wait to read all the lovely works you will be sending my way. Don’t forget that you can send as many poems as you’d like to have published.
Sending love and positive vibes,
Sometimes I just have the need to share with you my random thoughts and this is going to be one of those posts.
I miss art. I miss poetry. I miss novels and drinking tea accompanied with a good book. Lately my schedule has been a mess. For the next three days I am literally going to wake up at 4:45 in the morning and come home after 9 in the evening – just to give you a general picture of my life currently. I have less and less free time due to my two jobs, studying digital marketing etc.
Because of my studying I am reading a lot of books about digital marketing and community management. Today as I was reading one of those books I just thought to myself that I miss art. I am not saying that educational or self-help books aren’t art but I miss verses, I miss books that make me think about life, I literally miss having a plot to follow when I read.
Books and music have always been a great inspiration for me and I think that my writers block has a lot to do with me not reading enough. Have you ever experienced just a strong yearning for art. It’s just a part of me, I am sort of a poet, and it is important for me to have some time alone with my favorite authors and to discover new authors. This weekend I have three days off and I just hope – no actually I promise to myself – that I am going to make time to sit down and just indulge in some good art.
It’s actually important for my mental health. I am not saying that self-help books and watching Jay Shetty don’t do enough for my mental health but art literally heals. It can just make people let go of painful experiences, heal wounds, make us confront fears and dreams we keep hidden in the back of our mind.
Art. I just miss art.
So guys I need some advice from you. Since I quit my studying of Italian and Spanish at the University I have been trying my best to keep in touch with the languages. Learning a foreign language is like growing a new muscle and you have to practice it if you want it to stay in shape.
I need all of you from the Spanish, Italian and Portuguese speaking countries to give me some recommendations on books and movies and TV shows I should read/watch. If you also speak those languages and have some recommendations just write them down, it will be so helpful to me.
I have been reading one book in Italian from Mauro Corona, I have been listening to a whole bunch of Spanish music and I have been watching a Portuguese TV show on Youtube but I need some more and honestly I need something interesting and contemporary and who better to help me than you guys!
Thank you sooooo much for your attention and I can’t wait to see what recommendations you will send my way!
Sending love and positive vibes,
