Poem #78

I act in a way you’ll never figure out
how much I messed up and how messed up
I am.

Can’t you see how sincere the smile on my face is?
Can’t you feel the sarcasm in the previous statement?
I preach the truth, but I am a lie, an illusion,
a stranger to my own heart, my existence is a
foreign body on this planet.

But I don’t want you to leave so you will never know,
I will never reveal the secrets sheltered under my skin.

Your poem captures what most of us have to deal with from time to time. The courage you’ve shown to bare your heart is commendable.

  3. You write so beutiful!

  4. It is sad but true how often we have to bury our feelings and try to put on a happy face.

This reminds me of something I wrote a while ago, “Each and every smile’s a lie. You can still see the pain in my eyes.”

    Nicely done, Luna.
