Abandoned

He just left;
Suddenly! Swiftly!
In the middle of the night-
When the stars hid behind the cloud cover,
When all was quiet,
When the world,
wrapped in a quilt of the dark night, slept.
They came for him.
Woke him up
Pulled him from his bed
Holding him by the hand
Guided him to the edge!
For an instant it was all dark.
Then, he heard music
And was bathed in the light
Of a brilliant Halo!

The next day his room-mates
found him-
His body,
Which had been abandoned by life!

    1. Thanks so much for your comment. This is actually a true incident where a colleague of mine passed away in the dead of the night, falling down a flight of stairs. A freak accident actually but sad enough to leave a deep impression on my mind. This is my poetic take on it. 😊🙏
