Synastry: The Meeting

He appears
like a euphoric ultramarine ocean wave
come to awaken your cynical soul.
Like lustrous sapphire river rapids
in dreamy eyes.
Like sheer understanding
as they lock with yours.
Working up a summer sweat
for the attention of whoever happens to be
the luckiest person in the room,
His blithesome nature
blinds him
to the fact that you’re
fidgeting with impatience
craving the shower of his affection.
An infectious crystalline smile.
A boyish innocence
tempting you to show him a world of sins.
The sunniest shade of cobalt
and comfort and
gentle velvet hands with
shimmering suggestive fingers.
Crafty humor you only find in the essence of
a true entertainer,
leaving you at a loss for words
because all you can do is
giggle irrepressibly
as your cheeks burn scarlet
and your eyes gleam green.

She appears
like the blazing summer
you anticipate all year.
Like the roaring bonfire
you’re tempted to touch.
Like the perfectly chiseled amber masterpiece
you can’t take your eyes off.
Exuding her golden aura,
her smile is
a bite into the sweetest clementine
bursting
with incandescent citrus sunbeams,
dripping
with honeycomb audacity
as you salivate at the sight.
A saccharine tease
awakening your deadened curiosity
with her illumination.
She dares you to ask
how is it that she leaves so many with
a sour aftertaste
while others say she goes down smoother than heaven
and hotter than hell?
She is unabashed confidence in the form of
a nasty pill for the weak
or a caramel cream drizzle
for those who know how to handle
a woman of her charm.
