Sifting Words

Cinders sounds soft and brown
Like cinnamon and cocoa.
Words are musical notes that tap:
Icing sugar, circle, sprinkle.
We are baking gingerbread men,
Softly sifting words.
Curl them round your tongue and speak:
Poem crumble, crust encircled.
Take the biscuit, spell out purpose:

Teatime number- crunching verb.

I write occult and visionary fiction, and self-publish it as free books. I also write poetry and flash fiction, some of which is occult and visionary but not all, and I belong to a Spoken Word group for writers in my local area.
