Poem #314

I became silver.
Second place.
And I wore it like it was gold.
You made me believe that was all I deserved

I exist to make you feel good.
My hands are here to hold you up.
My words are here to encourage you.
My body is here for your pleasure.

I faded.
I became bronze.
Third place in my life.
You taught me how not to love myself.
It made it easier for you to turn me
into a shadow of your shadow.
