Middle Way

Sitting still this
quiet gray
warm afternoon
mid winter day

Critters scattered
’round and ’bout
chickens
cats call
one wants out

Thoughts meander
stream and burble
deep and quiet
‘neath the willow

Sunset welcome
by days end
the middle way
the river bends ~
