If you had a freeway billboard, what would it say?
I think that in this post-holiday period, my billboard would say “If anyone can explain what the f#ck, please call 09########”
Now let me explain why. The last shift I worked, it was the 24th of December and then my holiday started. I spent Christmas Eve with my boyfriend’s family, Christmas with my family and then on the 28th we traveled to Istria for a few days and spent New Years there. I am home now and tomorrow I have to go to work and all I can say is WHAT?
Am I supposed to know what day it is again? Let me tell you something! I haven’t used this much time off around Christmas for a long time and I am so off balance now because all I’ve been doing for the past few days was eating, spending time horizontally in different places and reading and after this blissful period of my life I have to open up Excel?!?!?
I am very upset.
It has never been this hard for me to jump back into routine. I decided that the best first step would be to use my last free day to really deep clean my apartment, organize my closet, meal prep and do whatever it takes to make going back to “normal” life easier. I know I am going to regret my decision to deep clean, I always do, but it has to be done because my apartment is looking concerning.
During non-post-holiday period, my billboard would probably be more positive, but right now I just don’t have it in me.
Love,
Luna
Don’t forget that my first novel is available on Amazon: Little Rebellion
Also you can get my poetry books: Rehab and Identity crisis
It’s a pain, but you’re doing a good thing. At some point you’ll be off work, able to breathe and will look at your clean apartment safe in the knowledge that you don’t have to clean it right now. Happy New Year. 🙂
I took a few hours to do the deep clean but it was worth it for that feeling in the end when I made me a cup of tea and sat in my extremely clean apartment reading. Happy New Year!
I always hate the cleaning, but love that satisfied feeling when it’s done. Happy New Year to you too! 🙂
