My mission

What is your mission?

Do you know what this prompt first reminded me off? Those pages companies have on their sites where they state their mission and vision and it’s all a bunch of shit. But anyhow, what is my mission?

This question made me realize I don’t have any large impact in my life (honestly don’t know if I would ever want to have it), because when I think about goals I see as my mission they are all very focused on me and the things I want to do in life.

For example, I want to continue publishing books and poetry to reach a wider audience. I want to travel the world and see as much as I can, but for now I have not left the European borders because, well… money. Even though my mission is centered around things I want to accomplish, I think that if I managed to push through with my writing, maybe gather a larger audience, I would look for a way to help abuse victims, especially domestic abuse victims because I used to be one.

Currently, I am not involved in any work regarding it, not because I don’t want to, but because I am still in therapy working out through a lot of my trauma and I think that getting near to it or maybe volunteering to help domestic abuse victims would throw me into a spiral. I cannot help anyone if I am drowning. I thought I was doing great and then my father suddenly came back into my life and I realized just how much work there was still for me to do before I could help anyone else.

So, once I am strong enough I would like to include helping people who are going through this into my mission.

What is yours?

Love,
Luna

Don’t forget that my first novel is available on Amazon: Little Rebellion

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on having a mission. I concur with what you say on the corporation; they make money for a small group of people (i.e. the members). All the rest is window dressing. As to my mission, I don’t really have one. I know that’s probably not what you want to hear but as I approach my 60th year, waking up each day appears to be a sort of blessing and that’s not in my gift. Once I’m awake, I like to share a few thoughts online and (right now) try to find another job, ideally not in the legal space. In short, I let things unfold and let the day work its magic. Take care, Julian

  2. That is a great question, Luna. I have so far mostly thought of my mission through a work perspective, other than my photography and family.

Perhaps my mission for 2025 is to begin to really think about my real mission in life. Thanks!
