What’s the most fun way to exercise?
Considering the fact that I have mentioned that I run several times on this blog, I know you are expecting that answer but you are a bit wrong.
A few weeks ago I would’ve probably said running is a fun form of exercise. For me it is, but not because I am all giggly and happy while doing it, but because running allows me to shut off my brain for a longer period of time which is pretty unusual for a professional overthinker. Running is monotonous as an exercise and when I put my headphones in, after the first kilometer, my brain is on autopilot. I feel great after each run, but I know it’s not for all and monotonous and repetitive are not really definitions of fun.
But you know what is fun? Dancing. I started belly dancing and I’ve gotten better at it in the last few weeks (in my opinion) and I find it to be fun and liberating, especially if you are doing it just as a hobby or a form of exercise. I had a training session yesterday and I broke a nice sweat. We are done learning one choreography so we spent the entire class just doing it over and over again and it turned out to be a pretty intensive workout.
Dancing is something you can do at home if you are a bit shy to dance around other people. You can follow a YT dance tutorial or play your favorite music and just do it!
