What is your favorite restaurant?
Surprisingly, I don’t have one favourite restaurant because that depends on what I feel like eating. There is one place here in Zagreb where I am always in the mood to go to and that is Capuciner but I still wouldn’t classify it as my favourite restaurant.
While I don’t have a favourite place, I do have safe places which basically means restaurants that I have tried and tested and I know they never fail me. They are the before mentioned Capuciner, Batak, Good Food for more of a healthy fast food experience, Umami and a few more.
I also don’t have a favourite food or dish. I would say that pasta is in general always a good choice but I don’t have one certain type of pasta dish that I would declare the best for me. Also, I tend to fixate on certain foods for a long period of time. For example, my current obsession are homemade bagels. I made a batch of like 20 of them on Saturday and I froze them so I can have them every morning. It was exhausting but I had my bagel this morning, nicely toasted, with some avocado, tomato, mozzarella and two boiled eggs on the side. I like a big breakfast to start my day.
I have strayed away from the topic here. So, restaurants. While I do enjoy occasionally eating outside, since I’ve started cooking it kind of became a thing for me to gather new cooking ideas from restaurants. For example, during my trip to Spain I wrote down several thing I want to try to make, especially their version of a cheesecake (tarta de queso) and I have to try and make churros one day. The biggest problem with my cooking journey is that I am still in a calorie deficit and I don’t throw food away so it would be interesting to see how I could fit a whole tarta de queso in my weekly calorie intake.
I don’t know why I started rambling on here since I obviously do not have a favourite restaurant. Well, if I discover one place that is going to be my holy grail of restaurants, I will let you know!
Love,
Luna
