The Poetry Bar

“Maybe I’m worthless”
Lurking always, faint but present
In every abandoned project
Every acquaintance
That threatened friendship
Or love
Fragments of memories of
Happiness siphoned out
Deposited and inaccessible
But not forsaken
Just beyond the reach of inconsequence
A disdainful mocking of past and future failures
Defeated in infancy, undead in adulthood
Pining to be pardoned
A hand on my weary shoulder
Entreat me
look up!
Arbiter of deliverance
And at that moment
in terror and relief
Let it be my hand
That proffers absolution
For if not I, then who?
My name is Dan, I started my blog MonacularSpectacular as a therapeutic outlet after losing the sight in my right eye due to a rare health condition and as a way to record my experiences.
Very quickly I began to express myself in various other mediums, one of them being poetry.
