Insomnia

Does anyone have a good cure for bad sleep? I think I am starting to suffer from insomnia for some reason. When I moved, the first few nights I slept like a baby and now sleeping became a difficult task to do.

First of all, I feel sleepy and then I get into bed and cannot fall asleep. I cannot get into a comfortable position and even when I start to fall asleep I wake up as if someone slapped me. I am tired and I just want to rest finally.

I lowered my screen time before bed time, I read in the evening, I dim the lights, light up my scented candle, I do everything to get me in sleepy mode and then I just suffer throughout the whole night.

Last night I couldn’t fall asleep for about two and a half hours and then when I was finally asleep something woke me up, some sound from outside but I jumped up as if someone was chasing me. Maybe I even had a bad dream that I don’t remember. And don’t get me started on how stiff my body is. It’s like I purposefully freeze my body in one position, knees always pushing against each other because I sleep on my side and then I just don’t move. I am in pain.

Maybe, subconsciously, I am a bit scared of sleeping alone in my new apartment. I talked about this problem in a video you can see below. Maybe it will go away with time, who knows?

I would love to hear your advice on how you deal with bad sleep and insomnia! All recommendations are welcome.

Love,
Luna

  1. Do meditation before u go to bed,, you can watch “Alan Watts ” for more info,
    Best wishes

  2. Generally, with sleeplessness, the question that should be asked is, “What has changed?” In your case, it’s like the new apartment. It’s normal to find it a bit difficult to sleep in a new place; you’re still getting used to the new nocturnal sounds and such. Your sleep will more than likely improve over time. Until then, consider drinking warm milk before bed, melatonin supplements, etc.; you might look at investing in blackout curtains (if you don’t already have them) and sleep ear plugs.

  3. I’ve tried sleepy tea, and that can help. Stuff that has chamomile and other herbs. I’ve also had some decent results from melatonin — which has upped the weirdness level of my dreams. I hope you’re able to get good sleep soon 🙂

  4. I know this feeling

  5. Try taking a shower before going to bed. It helps along with reading a book which you already did.

  6. A familiar audiobook you have ever listened to usually does the trick for me.

  7. I agree with judeitakali. It will give you a sense of presence and take the loneliness away. That’s what radio did and Alexa does now.

You could also doze off listening to music.

  8. My go-to if I’ve having sleeping difficulties is L-Theanine. The brand I use is Doctor’s Best but not sure if you can get it where you are. The dosage is 150 mg about an hour before bedtime. Good luck!
