Let Go

Let her go……
If she doesn’t want to stay, there’s no way that you can stop her
She’s made up her mind
It must have taken a while to muster up the courage
You say it’s rash? Maybe so. Yet, let her go…..

Let him go……
I know it pains you. You are shaken but so is he
Commitment isn’t easy and he wants to break free
You say it’s selfish? Maybe so. Yet, let him go….

There comes a time when things can get overwhelming.
When we begin to question the bonds we knew.

In such circumstances, some need love and some need space
They need to sort out their headspace

Some need to vanish
and some need to be found

Some seek solitude
and some want people around

Some need minutes
and some need a long time

If you have love then let go….
But holding on will do you no good
If they have to return then they would

Yes, I know that you are suffering

Yet, out of this suffering you’ll grow

Don’t blame yourself

Life isn’t perfect

Walk your own path

They might never return or just maybe, they might do

  1. A painful exploration into the unconscionable, the unspeakable, and – sometimes – the necessary. Well done, what a spear to my heart!

  4. Wonderfully written Harshi…I love everything about this poem..What it says is so true..so wise,a great wisdom is needed to see this clearly as the only mode of action..if someone no longer wants to stay. Your poetic lines flowed like a cascade and with gentle rhyme you imparted your truth..Bravo!

  6. I agree… let him/her go… let em consider life have, ‘gainst life had… today the power belongs to em… so let em go… you too will now have the time, and the space to reflect, and become whole again… if there is a return…? you now have the power… use it wisely…!
