The Stillness

The stillness,
Empty peacefulness,
Waking up and realizing,
You just hit rock bottom,
Walking and feeling nothing,
Life turning sour,.
Almost like you could taste it.
Living like you’re being forced to,
Breathing because you can’t snuf out
the oxygen even if you want to,
Maybe so scared to do it,

Realizing love doesn’t last
And sighing again trying to
remember what went wrong this time?

Was I too needy?
Or maybe I didn’t love enough?
Maybe I wasn’t enough?

You gradually accept reality and
walk in the path life has set before you,
thriving with those good memories you have of you and someone else
making beautiful lives together.

It hurt so much you lost them,
What hurts more is you have them stuck in your head and
it gets hard to love someone else!

How do I move on?
This is the line we all look,
for a distraction to get us away from yesterday’s heartbreak sigh*
