Do it yourself

Daily writing prompt
Describe the most ambitious DIY project you’ve ever taken on.

I remember that back in high school, I was obsessed with nail art and doing my nails and all of that and as a consequence of my hobby, I had a lot of nail polishes all over my room. My ambitious self wanted to build like a little house for them so I got down to work.

The thing is I needed to do it out of wood, I had to use an electric saw to cut through everything and I actually had to know what I am doing. My brother-in-law took pity on me and did it instead of me and I ended up with a literal little house that had shelves inside for my nail polishes and it hung on my wall in my room. But for those 2 hours I really did try to build something good.

My other ambitious DIY project is my first novel and this one I actually finished all on my own. It’s still free on Amazon so you can get it and it would mean a lot to me if you would take the time to read and review it:
The book: Little Rebellion
Goodreads: Little Rebellion GR

  1. Reality feels luna

  2. I hate to be an old fart but what is d i y?

      1. I do everything by myself.

      2. I pretty much do also. There are lots of DIY projects out there to try, too.

      3. Young lady please enlighten me what is DIY?

      4. Many people would rather make something than buy it. There are many sites that tell you how to make something yourself, rather than buy it ready made. I myself make my own healing salves. I grow many herbs. It’s cheaper to paint your own house than to hire a painter, though it’s a lot harder on you. If you google DIY projects, you will find a mother lode of them to try. I am getting ready to repurpose-repaint some yard art/garden items rather than go out and buy new ones. That’s my take on it. It can be very satisfying to make your own stuff. That’s my explanation. Someone may have more enlightenment than me, though. Blessings to you! 🙂

      5. a kiddo I was a history major my folks grew up during the depression we were never people that went out and bought things. I’m Wicca I know about herbs. 6. Sorry to cause confusion, ValHeikeWhitewolf. I had noticed your comment on Lunaiswriting’s site and just answered your question about DIY. I am not Luna. She is a good writer. She wrote the book on Rebellion, not me. (I have been rebellious in my day, though.) My site is 1RenaissanceWoman.

      7. I got that I love your name your sight Renaissance woman I was a history major Luther College and Decorah Iowa. I took a class and well I took three classes and a Roman history { Roman history the Renaissance and the Black death} I loved going back to school at 50 I got to go to school with children and they prefer young people but their children it’s one beautiful young man tickled me the most his name is John. he knows to the class when the class was done the thing he learned the most and that he will relish the most of the entire class was the fact that now he could spell Renaissance. Whitewolf is my spirit animal and my pen name due to a vision quest in 1994. my last name is hiki h e i k e

      8. Oh, I’m so glad to hear that! My husband is part Native American, so I like “Whitewolf.” He is the history person in our family, but I have a memory for historical markers/changes in society. I was given the title Renaissance Woman by a woman who led a writing group I used to be involved in. I went back to school at age 59 and was around young people, too. (They are pretty much brainwashed.) Hiki or Heike sounds German or European. My maiden name is Lorenz (German).

      9. I dreamed as I sat on the hill looking out over the Badlands dad a white wolf came and took my hand and led me a friend of mine was Iroquois he told me that it meant that I was on the search of knowledge. Just a writer who is a poet, I believe in many things I believe in past lives and that I have had them and that the reason I had a vision quest is because I am a native American but I look like a German but I’m also Yiddish and Welch and Norwegian.
        This go round!

      10. I think I have some Welsh, Norwegian, Swedish, and Irish, besides the German. My mother said we were part Cherokee, but Ancestry.com does not confirm it. Ancestry said I was 1-2% Jewish at one time, but they have since removed that. My husband may be 1% Jewish. He is a mixture of ethnicities, like me, and is part Caddo Indian. I believe in dreams telling you things. I have had several dreams that warned me about things or gave me a heads up. One of them showed the death of a family member, but it was the wrong family member. The dream came true. Dreams can be very helpful. Joseph of the Bible was able to interpret dreams.

  3. Nail art is something I’ve never thought of digging into until now, that sounds fun!

  4. That little house sounds so cute what!

    1. Oh, it was. I am so sad that my old laptop completely crashed and I don’t have pictures of it anymore.
