I stepped into the unknown
when I entered through those doors.
Nothing seemed familiar to me anymore
I caught a perfume I couldn’t recognize
My fingerprints were covered by another ones
I couldn’t sleep because
the pillow couldn’t adjust to my head
The mattress was bumpy
I found myself holding my breath
praying that it was all my imagination
I pushed it down
those thoughts
I silenced them
together with my cries
I soaked my hands in tears
banged my fist through the wall
and apologized for leaving a hole
My territory became a minefield
I walked on the tips of my toes
like a ballerina
I danced around your fraud
So gracious
So feminine
A stupid little girl
scared of ending it.
