Inflation sucks

Daily writing prompt
Where would you go on a shopping spree?

Listen, I would go to the grocery store for a shopping spree. I am still in my “learn to cook” era, which you can see on my YT channel, and I am always just saving new recipes. I have a whole list of things I want to try. I am assuming that for this shopping spree I would have a budget that wouldn’t come out of my budget because things are expensive.

I just went to the store, didn’t even buy that much and the bill was quite high. It’s getting insane here in Croatia with the prices, as I assume it is everywhere else. I am gleefully looking forward to when my mom’s garden is going to be full and I will be getting some food from her. I am actually going to see her this weekend for her birthday and I am emptying the pantry and stealing eggs. I don’t actually take that much, mostly pickles, eggs and I get some meat that mom puts to the side for me.

Back when I lived with my family, I took for granted the garden and the chickens that we had. Now that I have to pay for these things, I miss the days I could literally get tomatoes from my own garden. I hated working outside, especially the potato season, but it was so worth it.

Oh my, how my priorities have changed! If someone asked me this question 2-3 years ago I would have a list of clothing stores where I would prefer to go.

Love,
Luna

  1. The price of groceries (and most everything else) seems to be out of control most everywhere these days. Same with gasoline, which has been on the rise again as well. 🙄

  2. This is so relatable. Back here in India, my ancestral home had a garden with many trees including custard apples, lemons and chillies and what not. I never valued them and made faces when mum or granny tried to feed me custard apples. Now, they come so expensive and just don’t taste the same.

  3. In Canada, all food prices have been going up. It’s not enjoyable to go the the grocery store anymore, as you have to pass by things you normally buy…usually with a sigh and shake of the head.

  4. Lol, I said more or less the same thing. Food is spendy!

  5. If I were to go on a shopping spree, it would depend on my interests. Popular destinations include New York City, Paris, Tokyo, London, Delhi, Dubai, Seoul, Milan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Istanbul.

  6. Enjoy your meal, your dish will be delicious!
