Back to basics

I have finally tiptoed my way back to writing, specifically writing the sequel to Little Rebellion. I published the first part of The Stanhill series in February 2024 and then I decided to take a month or two to just rest and gather my thoughts about the sequel. That turned into almost a year.

I fell into some type of a crisis after I self-published the book because as soon as it was out, there was something missing in my life and I was constantly in an internal fight with myself and my self-criticism. The amount of times I wanted to remove the book from Amazon and forget it ever happened is concerning. Then the first bad reviews came which I had to learn how to weather and now I am finally feeling okay about my first book.

And here we come to me writing the sequel. I started around December with an outline. I already had the ideas in my head since I started the first part, I just wanted to plan it out nicely because when I say ideas, I mean a whole list of stuff written down without a chronological order. Once it was finally time to get down to writing, I could do it. The discipline was gone and my solution to it was to get the hell out of my apartment where I am easily distracted. The first few chapters were written in a very cute bar that, unlike many in Croatia, has a big non-smoking area. I spent a few hours there during a few days but it was the push I needed to just get started.

Now, the discipline is no longer a question and, after a long time, I finally feel excited again about writing and putting my ideas down and spending some time with my characters.

It feels like coming home.

Love,
Luna

  1. I’m so glad you found your way back. This resonates with me. I have been writing on here for almost 10 years. Every so often, I go through those same feelings. Keep writing and inspiring!
